Museo Maya de Cancún offers an inspiring journey through the history and culture of the Mayan civilization, presented in a modern and engaging way. The exhibition is organized into three main halls that guide visitors through the evolution of this remarkable culture—from the earliest archaeological discoveries to the height of Mayan development and the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. Visitors can explore unique artifacts, including everyday objects, ritual items, and architectural elements that tell the story of over two thousand years of history. The second hall provides a broader perspective on Mayan life, highlighting their relationship with nature, trade, cultural achievements, and innovations such as writing and the calendar. The collection features pieces from various regions of Mexico, enriching the overall experience. The third hall hosts temporary exhibitions that bring new perspectives and fresh insights. The visit also includes access to the San Miguelito archaeological site, turning the experience into a complete cultural journey. It is a place where history comes alive and leaves a lasting impression.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last access to the exhibition halls at 5:00 PM and to the San Miguelito archaeological site at 4:30 PM. Admission costs $210 MXN for foreigners and $105 MXN for Mexican nationals, including access to the archaeological zone. Entry is free for children under 13 and adults over 60, and on Sundays admission is free for Mexican citizens and residents.
