a week agoSmile MakeOver sets the standard for excellence in every area of dentistry. Their beautiful, modern clinic has the latest state of the art equipment and their dental professionals are highly trained and the best you could ever find at any price level. Imagine paying a fraction of US prices for the same or superior result. Everyone was very caring and spoke perfect English. I could not have had a better experience and my implant work is flawless. Smile MakeOver deserves the highest rating.

a week agoWant to travel to paradise to leave angry and disappointed? If so, then this your spot! Continously a NEGATIVE experience, and I've given them multiple chances on multiple trips to PDC... Is it safe there? Possibly (as it's gated) but just across the street, a car was burning this weekend from alleged cartel activity (photo attached below) This clinic thrives on taking advantage of gringos who travel here expecting more, and getting trapped into a web of run around and scams, just like the airport, taxis, and other parts of Mexico... Their business model is all flash and hype without substance or attention to detail. Sure, they are reasonably priced compared to back home, but their service is consistently disappointing & you'll spend plenty by the time you leave, as they tack on extra work and visits. Twice now, I've come specifically to fix a chipped tooth and TWICE, they've tried to send me a home without doing any of the work I came for. Originally, their driver was 45 minutes late, then they told me "we didn't schedule enough time for fixing your tooth," despite confirming multiple times that that was the only reason I came here... They did anything BUT the work I asked for, on both visits. They decided to offer to pause my appointment, take more clients, and make me come back... All because their driver was late in the first place and they didn't schedule properly on previous visits. Then, they tried to sell me on waiting an hour whole they took another patient since "she's been waiting"... But totally ignored the fact that the only reason we didn't have time was because their driver left me waiting for nearly an hour, and they didn't finish the appointment. I have NEVER been told that any medical appointment needs to take a timeout for 60+ minutes because they didn't schedule properly, nor can I imagine traveling here for any extensive work and being sent home or told that they're wasn't enough time. They consistently don't listen, make assumptions, then schedule improper amounts of time, convincing you to come back on another trip, or take more vacation days aways to come back. The dentist will start planting seeds about future visits and saying stuff like "on your next visit, we'll..."within a few minutes, because they're setting you up to NEED to come back extra times. The customer service is atrocious and the front desk is useless yet apologetic. As I write this review, the receptionist is busy taking selfies of herself out front (if that isn't a microcosm for how this place operates, then I don't know what Is) 🤳 Despite the politeness, & thorough follow-up, they'll try to trick you into accepting appointments which only do HALF the work. Over and over, leaving more for "next visit" They'll ask for feedback very proactively but won't actually fix or offer anything when you express your complete dissatisfaction. Save your time and money and don't worry about traveling to Mexico for medical work. (I'm currently being "held hostage" here because they won't finish my appointment without taking and finishing other customers first, won't let me leave without paying for a partial appointment that didn't do the work anticipated, they don't have a driver, and would freak out if I ordered my own ride and left...) Update: they tried to bribe be with a future free cleaning to remove this review. Another attempt to lure me back in for more money instead of making things right When I told him that I was not interested in their offer to come back again, they accused me of trying to Blackmail them and continued to gaslight me. Unfortunately, I never asked them for anything other than to leave me alone and treat people better... They will pay a bunch of lip service and make empty customer service promises, however they simply want to suck up your money and take no accountability for their mistakes or mismanagement. I am sure they will respond to this with some gaslighting comment about how I was in the wrong and somehow was unreasonable to expect them to finish, etc...

2 weeks agoA wonderful dental vacation experience in Playa del Carmen. I couldn't have asked for better treatment from the professional staff at Smile Makeover for my dental implant procedure. From initial consultations at home, complimentary airport and treatment transfers and more, everything worked out great! I highly recommend this dental practice for those visiting this beautiful part of Mexico. 👍

a month agoSo while on holiday in winter 2025 with 1day left of my vacation I found smile makeover and messaged them and got a response within 10 minutes. I secured an appointment for the next and last day to do an evaluation and after completing evaluation I walked out of there within 45 minutes with a detailed cost estimate and couldn’t believe the price difference from Canada. Round 1 was removing bad teeth, and bone grafts and implant posts, my surgeon ‘Jocelyn’ was so good I barely needed pain meds afterwards. I came back after 6 months after everything was healed and strong. And got my incredible smile back thanks to Jocelyn and Alejandra who were both perfectionists. The whole staff was very kind and helpful including my drivers who picked me up from the airport and hotels for my appointments. I was even contacted throughout my 6 months healing to tell me where I was at with the process. Thank you soooo much Smile Makeover
