  1. Cookin’ Playa is a culinary experience based in Playa del Carmen, offering immersive, hands-on cooking classes that showcase the richness of Mexican cuisine. The concept is centered on authentic flavors, local ingredients, and an interactive approach that makes guests part of the creative process.

Participants typically begin by learning about regional products and traditional cooking techniques before moving into a fully guided kitchen session. From fresh salsas and handmade tortillas to complex main dishes, the focus is on understanding not only how food is prepared, but why each ingredient matters.

Classes are designed to be approachable for beginners while still engaging for experienced home cooks. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, often making the experience feel more like cooking with friends than attending a formal class.

Cookin’ Playa blends education, culture, and gastronomy into a single experience, offering visitors to the Riviera Maya a deeper appreciation of Mexican culinary traditions through direct participation and shared meals.

Please check all Riviera Maya cooking classes in the Cooking classes category on RivieraMayaHotSpots.

My friend and I attended a class and it was SO much fun! The recipes were easy to understand and made with ingredients I can find at home. Our hostess was very personable and funny. We would 100% take another class from them!

Thanks for the cooking class. The experience was fun and really was a 'cooking in someone's kitchen'. The recipes are ones that we will use in the future. The stories were fun. Thanks!
