3 weeks agoWe got some fish tacos and a sopa de mariscos. Both were acceptable, but nothing to be excited about. We've definitely had better tacos in Mexico, and even at home in the US. This didn't hit par. Totopos were served with Pico de Gallo, not salsa. Their "spicy salsa" was chili oil. Fish tacos came with a sweet salsa that kinda tasted like duck sauce. Maybe mango? Service was good, atmosphere was nice enough, though the chairs were a bit too upright and uncomfortable. TV was a tad loud. Bathroom has running water.

4 weeks agoWhat a great little family-owned seafood spot in Akumal Pueblo — just over the bridge and across the highway from Akumal and absolutely worth the short trip. We ordered the shrimp ceviche Caribbean style and it was outstanding. We weren’t sure what to expect compared to the standard version (with tomato and celery), but this one was extra delicious — fresh, bright, and beautifully balanced with cucumber, a touch of pepper, jalapeño, and mango. It was incredibly refreshing and full of flavor. The guacamole was also impressively generous in portion size and very tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated that they offer both Spanish and English menus, which made ordering easy. Chef Beto clearly takes pride in the food. If you’re near Akumal and craving fresh ceviche in a relaxed local setting, don’t skip Akumal Pueblo — this spot is well worth it.🥳
