a week agoPersonally, I wouldn't go back. It's not as good as the reviews and videos say, unless you're set on cheap and want to take pictures for Instagram, but there are much cheaper places around the lagoon with better views. The guy at the entrance (Roger), for example, forces you to pay in cash because he "doesn't have a card reader," yet when foreigners arrive, he comes down and charges you with one—it's inconsistent. Do foreigners have more value than locals? The food is more expensive than in other places, you have to chase after the waiters, and in my case, I had a bag of candy that they refused to take, preferring to charge me for my meal. I think we made the wrong choice. The pool was fine, the food was average, and nothing special. Don't waste your money here. P.S. The music and atmosphere were super mediocre.

a week agoThe service was awful. They ignored us the entire time, we also wanted to go because of the free happy hour drink that they post on their website, when we got there they said they no longer have this service. They should remove that advertising on their website. Also we wanted to get a kayak and were next in line and they allowed two others to jump in front of us instead. We had to wait another 45min….Not worth it. I would use the free swim public spaces instead better atmosphere for sure. Over priced.

2 weeks agoHonestly, I can't believe how bad this experience was. The place was 80% empty, we paid the entry fee (200 pesos which gets you nothing!) with about 70% of our group, with the rest arriving later. The refused entry to the rest of our group when they arrived an hour later, saying the club was "full". Eventually we convinced them to let 3 of our group members in but they were super rude about it the entire time. The service was terrible, very very slow and not very nice. The food was great but my pina colada tasted like melted ice cream - it was awful. The cherry on top was that they tried to charge us for an extra 10 beers at 600 pesos total, hoping we wouldn't notice. When we pointed it out they immediately removed it, and a member of our group told us they'd tried the same thing a couple years prior when they visited. After all of that, there was a virtually mandatory tip they requested, AND the server tried to sell us on his sister's boat company. A bit cheeky, no? I will say that despite it all, the location was nice and the food was good (if overpriced), but I probably wouldn't return due to all of the above - staff is very rude and not there to make your experience a good one. We spent quite a lot of money there (I wish we hadn't) and it didn't seem to matter one bit to them.

3 weeks agoThis is great! It's a good option so you don't wander around Bacalar looking for somewhere to go. They are friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable.

3 weeks agoBest place to spend the day in Bacalar. Pool is gorgeous, food and drinks are great. Included in the day pass fee is being able to use the kayaks which is a great bonus!
