Chef Marco – Culinary Classes and Expertise
Marco was born and raised in Mexico City, where he developed a deep passion for cooking, inspired by his maternal grandmother, whose mole poblano was legendary. Combining this heritage with formal education, Marco earned a bachelor’s degree in tourism and culinary arts, followed by a master’s in education, laying the foundation for his career as a culinary instructor.
In 2015, he began teaching cooking classes from his home, sharing traditional Mexican recipes and techniques with locals and tourists alike. The following year, Doña Sonia & Chef Marco was established, initially offering catering services and cooking classes at rental properties. By 2018, Marco shifted the focus entirely to cooking classes when he became the resident chef at Casa Caribe B & B, which has since closed.
Today, Chef Marco is celebrated for his hands-on, immersive classes that highlight authentic Mexican cuisine, from regional specialties to family recipes passed down through generations. His approach combines culinary expertise, storytelling, and cultural insight, offering students an unforgettable experience in Mexican cooking.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cook, learning from Chef Marco provides a unique opportunity to explore Mexico’s rich culinary traditions in a warm, engaging environment.
